Photographer & Nature Philosopher Matt Knoth has been focused on the Golden Gate National Recreation Area’s diverse flora and fauna since he moved to San Francisco in 1997. Born and educated in San Jose, California, Matt’s love of cycling exposed him to the Bay Area’s idyllic back roads, from which he experienced first hand the abundance and variety of Northern California wildlife. A talented amateur photographer since his college days, the advent of the dSLR made the right tools available for Matt’s 21st Century skill set. Since 1997 Matt has been published by the Golden Gate Park’s Conservancy, Bay Nature Magazine, JPG Magazine and has contributed numerous photos to scholarly journals, books, and even documentary nature specials including 72 Most Dangerous Animals: Austrailia.
